In plain words

(We publish below the answers that Swami graciously gave to the doubts the delegates voiced at the closing session of the world conference of the Sri Sathya Sai educational institutions, held at Prasanthi Nilayam on 21 November.)

When tasks one has thought of are turned upside down, let no one waver, let no one flinch; the one who casts off worry and care and smiles a smile, he alone is the man whose heart has ripened!

Question: Swami! We ask You to tell us about the relationship between religion, spirituality and Educare.

Embodiments of Prema! It surprises me greatly that you have not yet recognised the relationship and kinship between religion, spirituality and Educare. First understand what Religion is. To realize is religion. What is to be realized? First of all you must know who you are. Only then will you understand well what religion is. What is spirituality? Singing bhajans, performing pūjās, visiting temples, going on pilgrimages.... You think that all such good deeds belong to spirituality. That is not what spirituality is. To recognise the truth that the Ātma which is in you is the very Ātma which is in everyone: that is spirituality. To recognise the unity in the many: that is spirituality.

A small example: when you close your eyes, you see no one.
