In plain words
When you open your eyes, you see many heads. Where were these heads when your eyes were closed? When the eyes open, where did they come from? Who are all these people? Whose are these heads? If you enquire so, you will understand that all these heads are in your eye itself. All beings are in you, and you are in all beings. To try to recognise this unity is spirituality. Spirituality makes you recognise the unity in the many. The Ātma is one and the same in everyone. But you think it is separate and different, and so you turn unity into difference. That is why you fall prey to so many doubts and suspicions.
You asked what the relationship is between religion, spirituality and Educare. All of these have arisen from Prema. These three are not different. To Realize yourself: that is Religion. To see yourself: that is spirituality. A small example: when I say, “This is my kerchief”, the kerchief is something other than me, is it not? In the same way, when I say, “These are my hands, this is my body”, the body must be other than me, must it not? Then enquire: who am I? The body is an instrument. It is merely a combination of materials. You are its master. It has been said, Master the mind, be a mastermind. That master is the Ātma. That very Ātma is in everyone. It is in you too. When you recognise this truth, the feeling of one Ātma in all becomes natural to you with ease.
Now, what is Educare? Those who do not know what Educare is cannot be Educated people. ‘Educare’ is a Latin word. From it alone the English word ‘education’ was formed. ‘Education’ means what is gathered from the outer world; ‘Educare’ means what is drawn out from within us. The first is needed for a livelihood; the second is needed for the supreme goal of life. The things we know, we gather from outside. But many things we do not know lie hidden within us. At the start you go ABCD... and so learn the letters. Then you join the letters G.....O....D and write the meaningful word ‘God’.
