In plain words
The letters were there already. Your effort is needed to put them together into words. Many things we do not know lie hidden within us. We must draw them out with effort. That is ‘Educare’.
If you have done some wrong deeds, then when you see someone who does wrong deeds, the wrongs in you come out. If you have done good deeds, then when you see someone who does good deeds, your goodness comes out. That is, you see in the person before you only the good and bad that are in you. You call someone good. That is not goodness in him; your good feeling towards him alone is reflected in him. You call someone bad. He is not bad. The feeling you have towards him is bad. Good and bad are all reflections of the inner feeling. We should not think of anyone as bad. In fact, you have no authority to say that someone is bad. If some harm comes to you through a person, you call him bad. But what do you know of how much goodness there is in him?
A small example: Anil Kumar is now wearing a cream-coloured shirt, he has put on spectacles, he holds a pen in his hand: merely by saying this, will you have recognised Anil Kumar's true form in full? You can see only his colour, his Height and his Weight. How many qualities there are in him that your eye cannot see! There may be compassion in him, there may be Prema, there may be anger. Only when you recognise all of these will you understand his full form. To judge a person's good and bad by his appearance and by the work he does is very wrong. Whatever feelings are in you, with that kind of vision you look. If you wear red-coloured glasses, everyone looks red. If you wear blue-coloured glasses, everyone looks blue. That is a fault in your vision, not a fault in creation. Only a fool who does not recognise such a truth keeps criticising others.
