Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

If your mind is not good and your conduct is not good, how will Sai be pleased with you? The giver of Śānti and Prema, the giver of joy and happiness, how will Sai, who is Prema, raise you as His own?

Human life is full of compassion. Time is holy. The heart is pure. The mind is sweet. What must above all be present in a man who has taken so sacred a birth? What is the foundation of the mansion of human life? These are the things you must especially recognise.

Every man longs for Śānti and happiness. But where is Śānti to be found? Only when human values are present in a man in full does Śānti come to him. Human values are not something we bring in from outside. We must make them spring from nowhere but ourselves. Today man has forgotten such values. What, then, can he achieve? Man must first of all recognise what he was born for.

The mansion of human life rests on four foundation walls: equality, unity, brotherhood and kindliness. If any one of these is shaken, humanness itself goes for nothing. These four alone are what man must nourish and protect in his life.
