In plain words
Make your life worthwhile through Prema. There is no Bhakti greater than Prema. Whatever small service you do with Prema becomes worthwhile. Even giving a tumbler of water with Prema to one who is thirsty is enough. Among devotees today there are many thieves. In former days all the devotees would gather and spend their time very happily. But now false devotees are growing in number day by day. Do not let such people come near you at all.
The temple of your heart is enough for Me!
Embodiments of Prema! Foster Prema in yourselves. You need not build Me temples anywhere; I need no rest houses and no halls. Give Me just the one temple of your heart; that is enough, and there I shall dwell in great comfort. No one must do wrong in the name of God. If you have no strength to do good, sit with your mouth shut. But do not ‘promise’ that you will do it. You must experience divinity silently, with Prema. To those who come wanting your friendship for the sake of business, offer a namaskāram and say ‘goodbye’. You must not make friends with such fools at all. If you want anything, ask Me. God never forsakes anyone. He cherishes all, without the least distinction. God has no hatred at all. All is Prema, Prema…. Foster this Prema in yourselves too. I have no wish that this whole hall should be filled with devotees. What I want is quality, not quantity. Why barrels of donkey's milk? One teaspoonful of cow's milk is better. If I find even one or two with good feelings, that is enough.
Do not turn Bhakti into ‘business’
Members of the Sathya Sai organisations must follow a path that is true and eternal. To put on a show of goodness only when you come to Puttaparthi, and to start the old games the moment you cross the village boundary, is not good. Burn such evil thoughts to ash here, this very day.
