In plain words
Laughing is a saṃskāra. Weeping is a saṃskāra. Everything is gained through saṃskāra alone. What saṃskāra comes from weeping? Weeping brings about some changes in us. How? Through weeping, some bad feelings in us go away. All the bad water in our body goes out. Look at today. Wherever you go in the world, people are packed so tight that the air cannot move. When our forebears were to hold a wedding, they put up pandals, tied up festoons of mango leaves, tied up plantain leaves, and celebrated it most auspiciously. Many people gather for a wedding. These leaves gradually take in the carbondioxide in the air breathed out by those gathered there, and send oxygen out. oxygen purifies the air. carbondioxide spoils the air. So how great greenery of this kind is! Today we are forgetting the meaning in such practices. When weddings take place, they tie up plastic festoons. At the doorways they tie plastic plantain trees. Everything is plastic. So such practices bring only plastic results. Today, wanting everything to be easy and to last for ever, we look for the easy way. This is very dangerous. Taking to such modern ways, we are ruining our health. There is great purity in the food man eats. Even so, from the food we eat to everything else, nothing but easy ways! This ruins health. We spend a great deal of money to protect our health. ‘The vegetables bought, a quarter rupee; the porter, half a rupee’: that is our state! Today man is turning into a lazybones. If he goes to the bazaar and buys vegetables, he needs a porter to carry them. What, can you not take them? Take a bag and go; what is wrong with that? Today you cannot carry it openly. Tomorrow, when it takes on a hidden form as food, you carry any amount of it. When we understand everything well like this and act on it, there is great happiness.
