In plain words
You must seek out the path that makes manifest the divinity within. Spreading it, you must experience Ānanda.
Embodiments of Prema! Foster good feelings; keep to good conduct. Do not give in to what others say. Develop self-confidence in full measure. Self-confidence brings self-satisfaction. Self-satisfaction leads to self-sacrifice. Through self-sacrifice comes Self-realisation. Without a foundation we cannot build walls. Without building walls we cannot put up a roof. Without putting up a roof we cannot live in it. For the mansion of your life, self-confidence is the foundation; self-satisfaction, the walls; self-sacrifice, the roof; Self-realisation, the life. So, from today at least, go on making the ‘foundation’ secure. This is why I say, “Start early, drive slowly, reach safely.” Do not be the least afraid of what anyone may think. Give the world a holy life.
These days greeting one another with ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’ has become a fashion. These words ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’ do not belong to our culture at all! Say ‘namaskāram’: how much joy it gives! These days even the unlettered say namaskāram, but for the educated even saying namaskāram has become a great burden. Truly, seen by science, there is no ‘morning’ and no ‘evening’. There is no sunrise and no sunset. These changes come about because the earth turns. Man today speaks of what is not, but does not utter what is.
Students! Honour mother and father, and love them. Become worthy of their love. Those who have enjoyed the love of mother and father have a fine future. A mother's blessing is most necessary. If you make your parents happy, in the future your children will give you joy. How is it possible to receive joy without giving joy?
