In plain words

Overjoyed beyond measure, she lifted her child up: “My son! Where did you go all this time? I could not see you! Where were you?” she said, and showered him with questions. Then the boy, “Mother! Why are you so afraid? I was right with God, wasn't I! In the temple the priest was giving fine teachings, and I sat listening,” he said. In this way, from childhood itself, the thought of God began in Jesus.

The fishermen come to have faith in Jesus

Jesus' father, Joseph, was a carpenter by trade. After some time he died. His mother told him to carry on his father's trade to earn their bread. But Jesus did not care for that work. The mother did not like to go against her child's wish. One day, without telling his mother, Jesus went up a mountain and sat contemplating God. After some time he came back down. There, on the seashore, some fishermen were sitting with sad faces. Jesus went up to them and asked, “Why are you so sad?” “Son! For a long time we have made our living by trading in fish. But today, try as we might, not a single fish has come to us,” they answered. Jesus, with a smile, ‘Where there is water, where would the fish go, if not there? Come with me. Let us get into this boat and go,’ and he took them along with him. When they had gone some distance out to sea, he said, ‘Cast the net here.’ As they threw the net, fish were caught in plenty. Then firm faith in Jesus took root in those fishermen.

Faith is most important for man. Where there is faith, there is Prema. Where there is Prema, there is Śānti. Where there is Śānti, there is Satya. Where there is Satya, there is Ānanda. Where there is Ānanda, there is God. Jesus awakened faith in those fishermen. The chief among them was Peter. Boundless Prema and faith towards Jesus sprang up in him. Day after day those fishermen took Jesus with them in their boat.
