In plain words
No schooling is needed to give sacred teaching. Today very many people pursue great studies. But what is the use? In practice, nothing. Having studied so much, you must put at least one thing into practice. You worship with great Bhakti, you sing bhajans. If you understand even a single word of that bhajan and put it into practice, that is enough. For example, you sing that God is the embodiment of Prema. Put at least a little of that Prema into practice, and experience it.
At Prasanthi Nilayam I had given Easwaramma a small room. Devotees used to go to her room. She would greet them with love. She would teach them many sacred things. Many women would go to her: ‘Mother! It is many days since we came here. The money we have is running out. Please speak to Swami and get us an interview,’ they would plead. She gave them just one answer: ‘My dear! Swami may look young, but whether I tell Him, or you tell Him, or anyone else does, He does not listen. It will happen for each of you according to your own portion. First of all, recognise Swami's true nature.’
Once, while talking with me, Easwaramma: ‘Sathyam! You have won a very great name. Today the whole world is coming to you. By your will you could grant peace to the whole world, couldn't you?’ she said. Then I told her: ‘World peace is not a matter of my willing it. Each one must attain Śānti for himself. Man himself is the embodiment of Śānti, the embodiment of Satya, the embodiment of Prema. So he must practise his own Satya. He must attain his own Śānti. He must experience his own Prema. ‘Speak Satya, practise Dharma’: put just these two into practice, and everything will come to us.’
The nation's future rests on its mothers
Since those days, down to today, there have been many mothers in Bhārata who gave their children such good teaching and shaped them into ideal people.
