Embodiments of Prema! Guard your health with care. Take proper care over your food and your activities. In society a great many people are suffering in many ways. Give fitting help to such people. Only then will the country prosper. But a great many of today's physicians labour only for money. Money comes, and it goes. Money comes and goes, but morality comes and grows. So you must develop moral values. Having taken up the physician's calling, you must give fitting help to patients. You must not scramble after money. Today many doctors have sunk into business in the name of medicine. We can call such physicians nothing less than great sinners. He alone who seeks the patients' well-being is a true physician. We must encourage such physicians in a fitting way. Through that, the patients too will gain a great deal.
It is not that I am praising Myself, but truly our hospitals are rendering very great service to the sick. Go to the General Hospital at Whitefield and look: so many poor people, poor souls, come there and receive medical help. They have no food to eat, no proper clothes to wear, no roof to live under. If such people fall ill, who will help them? That is why, in our General Hospitals and in our Super Speciality Hospitals alike, everything is free! Free! Through these, many poor families are benefiting. Today many people are building super speciality hospitals, but all that goes on there is business! They charge a fee even to look at a patient's temperature! In such a situation, what is to become of the poor? So doctors must treat the poor free of charge as far as possible. Only then will the learning they acquired bear its fruit.
