In plain words

Those four brothers went on enjoying such closeness, affection and joy. “Mother! Rāma looks after us with so much affection. Nowhere will we find an elder brother like Rāma,” Lakṣmaṇa, Bharata and Śatrughna used to tell their mothers. They longed to be always close to Rāma, to receive Rāma's affection and joy, and to serve him. Such exemplary brothers are there even today. But today the world does not give them the zeal and encouragement due to them. Our organisations must foster brotherhood. The word ‘brothers’ must not stay confined to the lips; it must be proved in conduct. Rāma spread to the world the love of an ideal brother. While they were living in the forest, if Lakṣmaṇa was out of sight even for a moment, Rāma would grow very anxious. Who are brothers? Though their bodies are different, their life must be one. Such brothers were in Bhārata not only in those days; they are here today too. But they are not able to become guides and pass on their noble feelings to others. Only when the principle of Prema is shared with one another will the divinity in humanity be well understood.

Today's students pursue their studies only to win high positions; none of them steps forward to offer a high ideal and Prema. What is the quality students must have above all? “Manasyekaṃ vacasyekaṃ karmaṇyekaṃ mahātmanāṃ.” Mind, word and deed must be one. If the words are sweet and the mind is bitter, there is no use. Mind, word and deed must all be filled with sweetness. This alone is the true mark of humanity. The proper study of mankind is man. Yet that mankind is not to be seen now. Man may be respecting his fellow man, but he does not share the principle of Prema, closeness and joy with him in turn. The values that should be in man are nowhere to be seen. They call themselves Mankind, but inside there is nothing but Monkey mind. How can humanity blossom in such a man? We must feel that all are none other than our sisters and brothers. Only when we recognise such oneness can we say that we are truly human. The day this oneness is missing, at that very moment enmity arises. Along with enmity, hatred too springs up. Through hatred, the principle of Prema in man perishes. So man must try to share the principle of Prema in him with every person. Only then will Brotherhood of man flourish. But today Brotherhood of man, Fatherhood of God is nowhere to be seen in practice. We must cultivate brotherhood, put it into practice and experience joy. On the day we achieve such oneness, on that very day our Bhārata will take shape as a great and ideal country. Such oneness must arise not only among brothers but between wife and husband too. See today: out of love for his wife, Dr Pillai wishes to start a medical institution here in her memory. This Pillai is not someone who came yesterday or today. For the past thirty years he has been coming into Swami's presence. His wife was a very noble woman. With a face that scattered smiles, she would speak softly and sweetly. There are a great many exemplary women like her in Bhārata. Thanks to them alone the country shines, an everlasting festival hung with fresh green festoons.

Today's educated people think they will find great joy abroad, and they leave sacred Bhārata behind and go off to foreign lands. The joy we cannot find in Bhārata we will find in no other country. “Enna bhārate tanna bhārata.” What is not in Bhārata is seen in no other country. That is why, for so many thousands of years, Bhārata has lived in friendship with all countries, mixing with them freely, without discord.
