In plain words
I would take along vaḍas and pakoḍās made at home and feed them. Seeing my Prema, Ramesh and Suresh offered their lives to me. “Swami, how did you write the examinations and put those boys' names on them?” someone asked. I said, “Ramesh too is my name; Suresh too is my name!” What answer could they give to that? If I go on telling my story like this, it will become very long.
I am very fond of students. Students too have great Prema for Swami. They come to me about everything. Only yesterday a research scholar came to me for help. He is writing a ‘thesis’ on the Mahābhārata. Even now he is sitting right here on the veranda. I told him to write whatever seemed true to him in his own mind. All these boys feel, ‘Swami alone is mother, Swami alone is father, Swami alone is everything.’ To Swami: ‘Sai Mātā! Sai Mātā!’ they pray. When they call ‘Mother!’, is it possible not to grant their prayer! ‘As one feels, so it becomes’: so I too shower a mother's Prema on them. Their Prema itself is reflected in me, that is all! This is nothing other than the love of mother and child. If you think of me as mother, I will be a mother indeed; if you think of me as father, a father indeed. In whatever way anyone thinks of me, in that very way I move with him.
