In plain words
One may learn every branch of learning and win over the assembly; one may fight as a hero on the field of battle; one may even be born a king of kings and rule a kingdom; one may give gifts of gold and of cows; one may count the stars of the sky; one may name the living species; one may learn all the eight-limbed sciences; one may make a journey to the sphere of the moon; but, setting aside the body, the senses and the rest, steadying the mind and turning it within, becoming one whose mind is ever unmoving in samādhi, can he stand firm.......
Embodiments of Prema! Today, in the field of education, consultations of many kinds keep going on. First of all we must try to recognise what education really is. One may read all the books in the world and explain their meanings. By this much alone one is not a learned person. In the world there are many learned people. In the world, great people who have pursued higher learning are to be seen all the time. But what change have they made through this learning, what have they been giving the world, what result has come of it: no one tries to recognise these matters. Change never comes from learning. Only when learning is turned within can you understand its essence and take it in. They are developing physical intelligence. They have debated the sciences of the mind at great length. In the spiritual field, many have been inquiring into the Ātma principle. Recognising the principle of these three, we have started the M.B.A. course in our college. M means recognising the principle of the mind. B means recognising the physical principle. A means inquiring into the Ātma principle. Many take M.B.A. to mean only recognising the principle of the mind. That is not so. Recognising the principle of the mind is easy enough. But understanding the Ātma principle is harder still. No one understands what the Ātma is. It has no form. The Ātma is nothing but the principle endowed with consciousness. They do not understand this very Ātma principle as Consciousness. But these learned people get only as far as the conscious. Some get as far as this conscious. That is, of the men of today, no one is trying to reach the Ātma principle, the true consciousness. Today, only when we understand Consciousness is the conscience understood. Only when this conscience is understood can we teach the conscious, that is, what goes with the senses. The conscience is the awareness within. Consciousness is the Ātma principle itself, pervading everywhere. No one among the people of today tries to recognise the right meaning.
