In plain words

Recognise the Satya that the jīva itself is God, and live by it

Embodiments of Prema! The children who sang the bhajans today are of the Seva Dal (former students who studied at Sri Sathya Sai's institution of higher learning). They wish to take part in service and please Swami. To do service, they went through much hardship, saved part of their salaries, and today have brought 48 lakhs. Who is this for? It was given for service. To serve the Daridranārāyaṇas is a most excellent thing. So I told them, “My dears! Put that money in the bank, and with the interest it earns, keep up service that never stops.” Money cannot make our good qualities grow. True yoga lies in sacrifice alone. Indulgence brings only disease; it does not bring yoga. So gain yoga through sacrifice. “Tyāgenaike amṛtatvamānaśuḥ”: only through sacrifice can you attain lasting Ānanda. To think of God without sacrifice brings no gain. Your mind may be satisfied. That is all! Above all, you must recognise the Satya that every jīva is God, and act on it.

“Īśvarassarva bhūtānāṃ”, “Īśāvāsya midaṃ jagat”: God Himself dwells in all and enjoys the Ānanda. You should not think that God stands somewhere, in some temple or other. “Deho devālaya prokto jīvo devassanātanaḥ”: our body itself is the temple of God. God is enshrined in our very heart. That is why it was given the name hṛdaya. The hṛdaya is that which is full of compassion. Whatever service you do with such a heart becomes worthwhile. Regard every human being as the embodiment of God. Do not forget the divinity that dwells in all, and run after paltry bodily pleasure. We cannot gain any happiness at all through this body. This body is hemmed in by many limits. With it we cannot attain Ānanda that has no limit.
