In plain words
But are they finding Śānti? No. They are forever sunk in despair and dejection. If you forget the God within you and worship with the feeling that God is somewhere outside, how will you find Śānti?
Embodiments of Prema! Believe that whatever happens is only for our good. If some hardship comes to you, you need not search for where it came from. It came from you yourselves! When you respect others, that very respect protects you. If you insult others, that very insult punishes you. Happiness and sorrow alike are what you have earned for yourselves! The sins and merits you have done follow you like your shadow. So whatever pain comes to you, do not lay the blame on others. Do not revile anyone. Love everyone. Look on all human beings as sisters and brothers. Believe that all are children of God.
Practise what is good and teach it to others
Embodiments of Prema! Before you teach others what is good, practise it and show them. What is the worth of teaching you give without practising it? It is all just a ‘stunt’! However much we read, however many teachings we hear, if we do not put them into practice they cannot help us at all. Give your fellow man at least a little help. When you are in need, that very help will come to your aid. To be born among the people of Bhārata is truly your good fortune. What is not in Bhārata is found nowhere in this world. But today the principle of Prema is not to be seen among the people of Bhārata. If there were this one thing, Prema, no one would surpass the people of Bhārata. So we must raise our honour through Prema. Through Prema we must keep nourishing Satya and Dharma. Prema alone protects us always.
(Swami sang the bhajan ‘Premamudita manase kaho...’ and then, continuing His divine discourse, said:)
Embodiments of Prema! We must sing the glory of God's Name with our lips. To match it, we must keep the beat with our hands. Those who worship God with bhāva, rāga and tāla are the people of Bhārata.
