Passage 5

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

If we go about relying on untruth without practising such Satya, how can we gain Ānanda? When man today opens his mouth, it is all untruth! Wherever he sets his foot, it is all Adharma! God protects at all times those who guard Satya and Dharma. Wherever we look in this Prakṛti, we see only Satya. Nowhere at all do we see anything greater than Satya. But we hide Satya away and follow untruth. That is why Adharma keeps growing today.

Embodiments of Prema! Satya itself is our life. This very Satya keeps protecting our all. It is enough to have just one thing, “love of God” (daivaprīti). Fear of sin and morality in society, both will come to us in full. When we take Satya and Dharma as our standard and set our life on the right path, Ānanda keeps coming to us every moment. If Ānanda does not come to you, come to Me, and I will surely show you. We must practise Dharma in the right way. “Trikālābādhyaṃ satyaṃ”: Satya is that which does not change in all three times. What changes is never Satya. When we practise Satya in the way of Dharma, God stays right behind us, right beside us, right in our home.

The whole of our life rests on Satya and Dharma alone. But today we do not teach children rightly about Satya and Dharma. We teach them, “My child! You must not go back on your word,” but we do not teach children that Satya itself is the form of God. We must teach them that Satya itself is God before their eyes, and that Satya itself protects them in every way. Without explaining to them the right meaning of the word Satya, if we keep telling them, “Speak Satya, speak Satya,” how will children speak it? Leave Satya, and there is no Dharma at all. “Satyān nāsti paro dharmaḥ.” Satya is like the roots. Dharma is like the branches and twigs. The joys and delights that man enjoys are its fruits! So we must go on living our life with Satya and Dharma as its support. Satya itself is the chief friend of Prema. Only through Prema and Satya are we able to nourish Dharma.
