In plain words
Our Prema has come into being for God alone, not for the physical body. Our breathing in and out, our actions, our words: all of them have come into being for the Ātma! Man has come for the principle of the Ātma, Satya and eternal. So our thought must go to the search for the Ātma, not to the search for food. However, as long as it lives, the body may fall prey to a few diseases. But we must take no account of them. They are like clouds, coming and going along the way. What madness to fret over such things! We must not forget the Satya that we have come to experience the Ānanda of the Ātma, Satya and eternal.
We must meet obstacles with self-confidence
Today, on the occasion of the ‘Onam’ festival, the people of Kerala have come into this Prasanthi Nilayam and are experiencing great joy. Nothing should hinder this in any way. But My condition may have caused you anxiety. At a time when you were all happy, this hindrance of Mine (bleeding from the nose) distressed you greatly. But you must not give distress any room at all. I came straight back out again only to give you courage. In the world many ordeals arise in just this way. All these are only scares that scare us, not sufferings that make us suffer. Even when difficulties come, we must withstand them, push on through them and go forward. These are trifling difficulties. To let go of our great self-confidence and sink under these trifling difficulties is a serious mistake. Whatever they are, they come and they go. They go just as they came. Now and then a few hindrances arise for the body. We must not heed them. Now and then a few clouds get in the way of the shining sun. But what comes goes. When we face them with such courage, zeal and resolve, no suffering of any kind can make us suffer.
Without suffering joy does not come to us
Embodiments of Prema! We must use all our time for worthwhile work.
