In plain words
Your own inner feeling appears to you as something outside. All that is seen outside is merely a ‘reflection’. Keep the ‘reality’ in your mind.
What you should long for is one thing alone. That itself is Divinity. That itself is oneness. If there is no oneness, multiplicity does not appear. Multiplicity is born in oneness itself; it grows in oneness itself and merges in oneness itself. So we must establish oneness in our heart.
Not the eyes of flesh: the eye of Jñāna is what counts
The sooner we develop the principle of Prema, the sooner we can see Divinity. As long as we do not let go of body-consciousness, Divinity will not appear to us. Body-consciousness alone makes many differences appear to us. The thousands of eyes, hands and feet seen here are all God's! If you would recognise this Satya, you must root out body-consciousness. When you recognise the oneness within multiplicity, Divinity will appear to you in a single instant. But you do not understand the Satya that the oneness within multiplicity is Divinity itself. To understand this, you must change the feeling in your mind completely. When we put on spectacles, whatever the colour of the glasses, the scene outside too appears in that same colour. So take off the ‘coloured glasses’ of body-consciousness and behold the ‘reality’.
Hold firmly to Prema alone. Only through Prema can you see Divinity. Wherever you go, Prema itself will stay with you as your companion and protect you. Prema alone is the ‘reality’. All the rest is ‘reflection’, ‘reaction’, ‘resound’. First of all, develop steadiness of mind. If you want to keep your mind steady, follow one word and one way; fix one form of God firmly in your mind. Do not be deluded by the sights that appear to your eyes of flesh. Not the eyes of flesh: the eye of Jñāna is what we need.
