In plain words
Make a hōḷiga (obbaṭṭu) and give it to me,” he said. She made the hōḷiga, put it on a plate and brought it. I Myself broke off little pieces and kept putting them into his mouth. “Ah, how sweet this hōḷiga is! Easwaramma, you have never made it this sweet! Why is it so tasty today!” he said, praising it. “There is no greatness of mine in it, Father! Swami put it in your mouth, and so it is that sweet,” said Easwaramma. By then his sons Pedda Venkamaraju and Chinna Venkamaraju had come too. I gave them a little too. When it had all been eaten, I gave Kondamaraju a little water to drink. He was overjoyed. Then, saying ‘Easwaramma, I am getting sleepy,’ he lay down. Easwaramma recognised, ‘That is not sleep; it is Swami's will itself!’ I told Pedda Venkamaraju and Chinna Venkamaraju, “Get the firewood ready and keep it.” Everyone came to know that Swami had come in order to keep the word He had given.
In this way the births of both Karaṇam Subbamma and Kondamaraju were fulfilled. Kondamaraju used to call Me ‘Satyā! Satyā!’ Gṛham Ammāyi used to call Me ‘Satyam! Satyam!’ To the others I was ‘Satyanārāyaṇa!’ or they called Me ‘Rāju!’ To keep the word I have given, I am ready for anything. But many devotees do not keep the word they have given. ‘Dear one! I am right there with you all the time. Do not worry’: when I tell them this, they say yes then and there; afterwards they forget.
Satyam lived by the truth
When this body was at the student stage, Seshama Raju took Me to Kamalapuram, hoping to see Me through higher studies. But there I had to fetch water every day from a long way off. Once a temple fair was held at Puṣpagiri, a little way from there. I had to take part in scout service there on behalf of the school. After the scout service at Puṣpagiri I went back home.
