In plain words
Truly, the power God has given us is immense.
Hold Prema as your chief property
The principle of Prema that the Paramātma has granted is beyond every measure. There is no substance greater than Prema, no power greater than Prema. And you let such a thing go so easily. You think Prema means loving in a worldly way. That is not Prema. Everyone keeps saying ‘Prema’, ‘Prema’, but what quality does Prema have? How should Prema be used? That, they do not learn. Prema always helps; it never hurts anyone. So you must take Prema itself as your chief property. No ‘property’ greater than this is to be found anywhere. However much you use the ‘property’ called Prema that God has given, it does not run out. But you spoil Prema by misusing the senses; you do not give it the purity it deserves. You must put to good use the Prema God has given. Help ever, hurt never. There is no Dharma greater than this. Prema is something that stands forever for every single one. Prema is as dear to every living being as life itself. But if you stay far from Prema, you will not understand the principle of Prema at all. If you want to understand the principle of Prema, you must plunge into Prema itself. The Prema of the world we may taste and then let go, but divine Prema, once tasted, we never let go. ‘Śrīdhara is full of Prema’: Prema is His property. Prema is God. Live in Prema. Only then will you have fully recognised its principle. To speak of the principle of Prema is very easy. But to understand it is very hard. So make the effort to recognise Prema. If you understand your own Prema, you will understand the Prema of others. The more you understand Prema, the greater you become. All around you, beside you, wherever you look, what is there is Prema. If you know this Prema, you yourselves become embodiments of Prema.
