In plain words
Today they are researching the nature of the mind in many ways. The mind is unsteady, like a mad monkey. Mind is like a mad monkey. Holding on to this ‘monkey mind’, you think, ‘I, I’. What a mistake this is! Body is like a water bubble. The body, like a bubble of water, perishes in a moment. You are not this ‘water bubble’. You are not the mind that is like a Mad monkey. Yours is Mankind. Only one endowed with Kindness is a true human being. But in man today kindness and consideration do not appear at all. Today Mankind has turned into Monkey mind.
‘Educare’ means knowing oneself. To know oneself, one must reach the state of no-mind. If you travel holding on to the mind, there is no knowing where you will end up. So travel holding on to the Ātma. Without the Ātma the body cannot work at all. Knowing about the Ātma is itself ‘Educare’. Man today, feeling that he is nothing but the physical body, says ‘I, I’. But the word ‘I’ does not apply to the body. ‘I’ means ‘aham’. If one takes the form itself to be ‘I’, that becomes Ahaṅkāra. As long as there is Ahaṅkāra, we do not understand the principle of the Ātma. We must push Ahaṅkāra aside and hold to equality and the feeling of the one Ātma. In everyone there is nothing whatever but the one Ātma. We call this very thing the Fundamental Principle. Only when this fundamental principle is present do we value the body. Without it the body has no value. Only when we recognise that fundamental principle do we become true human beings. In this world there are many cattle, birds, beasts and the like. They also live; you also live. Then where is the fitness in your taking the name ‘human being’? First of all you must try to recognise the fundamental principle. For this we must go on following our ancient culture.
