In plain words
Where there is ‘purity’, ‘divinity’ becomes manifest. It is enough if we foster ‘unity’; every undertaking will succeed. But today the country has had to suffer troubles of many kinds only because ‘unity’ is lacking.
The boy, King Parīkṣit, greeted everyone with love, his face brimming over with a smile. ‘I am a child. Some mistakes may happen in my rule. If any wrong is done without my knowing, forgive me,’ he would ask. He believed that God Himself was with him, leading him forward. Relying on God, he carried out the actions that were his duty. That is why God Himself kept protecting him in every way.
Students! All of you must take Parīkṣit as an ideal. Like him, you too must give the people fitting zeal and encouragement. Tomorrow I will teach in more detail. Celebrating these Dasara festivities in grand style is not the main thing for us. My intention is only to foster good qualities in you and set you on the good path. I give My blessings to you all. I hope that all of you will stand as examples. Only then can the country regain its ancient glory. In no age has anything like this taken place. You who have been able to gain such an opportunity today are very fortunate. On one side the Vedas resound. On the other, the remembrance of God's Name goes on. Remembering the Name is itself the way to cross over. I hope that in this way you will carry on reciting the Vedas and remembering the Name to your last breath, and make your lives fulfilled.
All women too, like Draupadī, must face the challenges that come in life with unwavering faith in God, with courage and daring. You must shape your homes in that way.
