In plain words
Learning that I had come there, he wrote and sent a note: ‘Bhagavān, please come once and give darśan.’ Seeing it, I went at once. Kasturi too came with Me. Puruṣottamānanda's joy knew no bounds. ‘Today I have truly seen Puruṣottama. My birth has found its fulfilment,’ he said, shedding tears of joy. Kasturi too was right there, to chime in with him. Keeping Me seated close beside him, he said to Kasturi, ‘Go inside and look.’ Kasturi was a journalist, after all! He went in, hoping some more news might be had inside. But Puruṣottamānanda fixed his gaze on Me alone and passed into the state of samādhi.
Granting his prayer, I went there on the second day as well. As I was coming back from there, I took a small piece of paper from Kasturi, wrote, ‘I will come again on such-and-such a date, at such-and-such a time,’ and put it into Puruṣottamānanda's hand. On that day he bathed in the Gaṅgā, came back and sat waiting for My darśan. At the time I had given, I appeared before him. Gazing and gazing at Swami in joy, he merged in Swami. ‘Puruṣottamānanda has merged in You,’ his disciples telegraphed Me. Rāja Reddy too was there at that time. The day Puruṣottamānanda was born and the day he attained samādhi both became one. ‘Go into his cave and see,’ I said. When they opened that cave and looked, it was full of ash throughout. The people of the Śivānanda Āśram consigned his body to the Gaṅgā. After that all his disciples came to Puttaparthi and stayed ten days. I showed them due honour and courtesy and sent them off.
Puruṣottamānanda was truly a Puruṣottama, true to his name! I went to him on two days. At first I had thought of going for one day only. But at his request I went again on the second day and made him happy.
