In plain words
Man is nothing but a form made of the five elements. Man lives by the radiance of the five elements alone. The five elements are there whenever you look. Only as long as they last does humanness last. In this world there is no sixth element at all, only the five. Whoever you look into, there is nothing but sound, touch, form, taste and smell. Through these alone we experience what we call good and bad, sin and merit. Good and bad are not things God has given. Each one goes on reaping what he himself has done. ‘God has given us troubles,’ some think. Others rejoice, ‘God has granted us happiness.’ But God neither hands out happiness and joy nor brings sorrow and trouble. All these are nothing but man's delusions. It is the anger and resentment, jealousy, envy and vanity within man himself that torment him in so many ways. Where does anger come from? It comes out of our food itself. Kāma, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, mātsarya and the rest are not things that formed outside us. They have all come from within ourselves.
Worldly ties are passing clouds
You imagine that God has some special form of His own. But He has no form. God is positive. Man is negative. We must trust the positive alone, and not trust the negative. The positive lasts forever. But the negative stays a little while, then goes. For example, a boy marries a girl. Where was the boy born? Where was the girl born? In between, the wedding takes place. Well then, once they are married, do the two of them last forever? They do not. She goes off one way; he goes off another. Everything comes and goes in between, like passing clouds. If man is to last forever, there is only one single way. That is faith in the Ātma. Kṛṣṇa Paramātma said, “You keep coming and going. But I shall be with you always.” Divinity is that which never changes.
