In plain words
The Rudra is the essence of all the Vedas!
In this way, people of every country are now learning the Veda. They are learning the Yajur Veda, the Sāma Veda and the Atharvaṇa Veda, and above all the Ṛg Veda. We must not neglect the Vedas. The whole secret of creation is there in the Veda. The Veda shows the goal of life. Not just one thing: everything is there in the Veda. The Satya of all four āśramas, brahmacarya, gṛhastha, vānaprastha and sannyāsa, is set out in the Veda. Now everyone is coming to understand this. Even the women in the villages are chanting the Vedas. There may be a difference of female and male only as far as the body goes, but in learning the Veda there is no difference whatever. The Veda is most wonderful and most holy. Within it, the Ati Rudra is very great. What is in it is found in nothing else. People think the Rudra means the names of Īśvara. No, no. It is the very essence of all the Vedas: the Ṛg Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sāma Veda and the Atharvaṇa Veda. Not only that: its great strength is the oneness of these two, the Namaka and the Camaka. The Namaka says, ‘I do not want.’ The Camaka says, ‘I want.’ But the essence in them all is one. What does it say it does not want? It says it does not want the bad. It says it wants the good. So we must learn both. The Camaka is full of desires. The Namaka is full of detachment. Who is a sannyāsī? When you enquire who is not a sannyāsī, the one who strives for the power of desire is no sannyāsī. Only he who does not seek the fruit of the power of desire truly renounces. People think that giving up house and home, land and wealth is true renunciation. That is not renunciation at all. That can be done easily. We must give up the fruits of desire. We must give up the result of desires. That alone is true renunciation.
Education and Educare
We must know what we were born for. We were born to eat, to roam about, to enjoy pleasures... not for these. We were born to help our fellow human beings.
