In plain words

Let us follow the right path right away, at every moment. God notices every matter; He keeps protecting us in every way. With God Himself beside us, we need fear nothing.

I always hold fast to Satya alone

Before Bhārata gained independence, I used to hold meetings in the villages. I used to go forward to help all the poor. When I went among the people in shorts and a shirt, everyone would stop me, bring a short dhoti and tie it on me. I used to go to the homes of the Mālas. I wrote a song addressed to the rich and taught it to the Mālas.

When we plough the land, sow the seeds and raise the crops, and you, without so much as coming down the steps of your mansions, sit and swallow it all, is all the toil our share, and all the fine comfort yours?

If any of the rich turned on them, “Who are you to tell us?”, they would give them a fine answer.

This earth is God's gift; whose father's property is it? If you fall upon us because you are mighty, is there no God! Are there no great souls to bring about brotherhood! Wake up, wake up, forget the delusion!

As I wrote songs like this and taught them to the poor, the rich grew angry with me. The elder brother of this body too would come and slap me: “Why do you go out in public? Sit at home and study! You must not go out of the house,” he would scold me sharply, shut me in a room and lock it. Everyone would come there and call, ‘Rāju, Rāju, Rāju’, poor things! “Dear ones! Be patient a little while. I will surely come. I am yours. I will fulfil your wishes,” I would tell them, giving them great courage.
