In plain words
Embodiments of Prema! Prabhava, Vibhava, Śukla, Pramodūta, Prajotpatti, Aṅgīrasa, Śrīmukha, Bhāva, Yuva, Dhāta, Īśvara, Bahudhānya, Pramādhi, Vikrama: there are sixty years like these. From Prabhava to Akṣaya, sixty years. This body has passed through two Akṣaya years. For recognising the divinity within humanness, this year named Sarvajit is of the first importance. Man has a great many hopes. But the year that brings to fruit the hopes joined with a true resolve is ‘Sarvajit’ itself. In this year every field will stride forward: the moral, the physical, the field of Dharma, the spiritual, the scientific and the rest. But we must hold true resolves. One who has a true resolve will lack nothing at all. Every single true resolve brings nothing but victory. We must hold that determination firmly, without letting it go. ‘Jit’ means victory. ‘Sarvajit’ means that this is the centre of every kind of victory. Of the sixty years, this year is the chief one. If we are to make progress, we must nurture true resolves in this year named Sarvajit. Nowhere will you find anyone who held a true resolve and met defeat. So fill your hearts with true resolves, and live this year named Sarvajit happily, in comfort and in joy.
‘Sarvajit’ is a name Pārvatī gave
The root cause of this year being named ‘Sarvajit’ is Pārvatī herself. For many years Pārvatī gave up sleep and food and did hard tapas for Īśvara.
