In plain words
That day, because the primary school had a holiday, all the little children came running there. They all came up to Me and kept pleading, “Swami! We need water to drink.” “It will surely come, my dears! I will bring it from the Kṛṣṇā and give it to you,” I said. Just as I had said, I brought them the waters of the Kṛṣṇā.
The British promised to join the three, the Kṛṣṇā, the Godāvarī and the Gaṅgā. But they did nothing. To bring water for drinking and for the crops, we had to spend two hundred crores. Now they drink that water happily. When I went to Teynampet the other day: “Swami! Now we drink cool water, sweet water. How can we ever thank You! Words are not enough for us to thank You,” they said. God can do anything. But men without sense cannot come to know it. Teach such ‘fools’ the sense they deserve. They have all the money they could want. But they will not give beggars a single naya paisa. I told the people of Teynampet, “There is no need for anyone else to give. God, who creates, can Himself give you everything. So whatever you need, pray to God.” When I went the other day, they all came there. They thanked Swami for granting them sweet water. “Drink this water and live in comfort; be happy. That is enough for Me,” I said. Now they have laid pipes to every house, even to the little huts, and arranged for water to reach everyone. Everyone is drinking sweet water. My whole heart is sweet water! The happiness of all is My happiness. That is the inner meaning of the prayer “May all the worlds be happy”! All of you, too, pray in this way.
A drinking-water project for the two Godāvarī districts
Next we began a water project in the East Godāvarī and West Godāvarī districts. Dr Bhāskara Rao, the president of the West Godāvarī district, is right here. They worked very hard for this project.
