In plain words
So the ‘old and new’ are both image and reflection! You should grieve over nothing in this world. If there is sorrow or grief or difficulty, push it far away. ‘Alas, the examinations are coming. What will happen?’: there is no need for such fear. As much as you have studied, so much you can write. You must write boldly. “Courage achieves everything.” If you let it go, everything comes to nothing. So you must never give up courage. This they also called ‘puṣṭi’. This puṣṭi is the basis of all creation. It is the lust, anger, greed, delusion, pride and envy in you that are reflected outside. All that is reflected outside is what is within you! So keep your inner being pure. Only then can you win victory in everything. To forget the divinity in your inner being and run after outer things is a great mistake.
By mastering the senses you must build up the power of the senses
Embodiments of Prema! Students! You are studying many subjects. But if your inner being is not pure, what use is it however much you study? “Having read all kinds of learning and grown very clever, the dull-witted one does not know himself in his own mind.” What use is it however much a man studies, if he does not know his own true nature? “Why read every kind of learning only to die? Learn the learning that knows no death.” Your learning must be of use to society. You must share the learning you have gained with many others. You must teach those who have no learning. Only then will your humanness grow wide. Vyaṣṭi means one alone. But once a second joins beside it, it becomes samaṣṭi. The vyaṣṭi must become one with the samaṣṭi.
Through ‘sense control’ you must build up the power of the senses. Only when there is ‘sense control’ can you live as true persons.
