In plain words
Even when there are differences of opinion among you, you must learn the habit of adjusting. Devotees must come to such ‘understanding, adjustment’ and live well with all. Even if someone reviles the God you worship, say nothing to them. Think, “It is God Himself who has come in this form and is speaking!” When you love all, the evil qualities in you, desires, hatred, anger and the rest, fall away, and Mokṣa is won easily.
To follow the principle of the Ātma is spirituality
Just now so many people gathered here and sang bhajans. But in how many hearts is there true Bhakti? If you keep calling yourselves ‘devotees, devotees’ and keep evil qualities such as jealousy, anger and pretence in your heart, you lose in every way. Whomever you see, live in harmony with all in the broad-hearted feeling, “This man is my brother, this woman is my sister.” All are children of God! Even if on some matter some difference arises among you, you are all one and not separate. Believe in this unity; achieve unity; experience unity. The unity in the many is the divine principle. That is the spiritual principle. Spirituality is not merely reading holy books, doing pūjās and keeping vratas; spirituality is following the principle of the Ātma.
Satya, Dharma, Śānti, Prema and Ahiṃsā are our five life-breaths
You are all constantly remembering ‘Sairam, Sairam, Sairam’, are you not! So, when you think of yourselves as devotees, you must do good to others. You must live in harmony and happiness with all. You must hold hatred against no one. You must love all. Only then will you have Ānanda. What is the inner meaning of telling you all to carry on the journey of your life with Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Prema? Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Prema are the chief human qualities.
