Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Embodiments of Prema! Today I have nothing in particular to say. Goldstein (Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation) and Srinivasan (President of the All India Sai Organisations) have told you all that needed to be said.

Today's education is merely material, external and worldly. In Bhārata there are crores upon crores of people who have pursued such studies. But no good and no help comes to society from them today. Each of them looks after his own selfish ends and his own interests; no one is to be seen who seeks the comfort and happiness of the people. What state is society in today? What sufferings are the people going through? This, no one understands. Only when they speak in public somewhere do they say, “We must help the poor”; but no one is seen doing it. Who, really, are the poor? Who are the rich? Those who do what they say and show it in action: they alone are the rich. All who do not do what they say are nothing but poor! “In the great, mind, word and deed are one.” Such great souls are, today, one in a hundred or one in a crore.

First of all, we must protect the poor

You know what state the world is in today. Wherever you look there are only hardships and sorrows; joy does not meet the eye. The people of every region and every country speak grandly of the progress they have made. That greatness is only what they say of themselves; real greatness is not to be seen anywhere.
