In plain words
Only then will you have Śānti. Without such a feeling of the one Ātma, however many japas, tapas, yogas, yajñas and yāgas you perform, you will not have Śānti. Wanting Peace, you wander to many places. But in this world you will see only pieces; peace is seen nowhere. Śānti is right within you. So turn your vision inward! Only then will you become a human being. Cattle and wild beasts do not have that understanding. You are not an animal, you are not a beast; you are a human being. So live as a human being. If you take the name ‘human’ and live like a beast, how will you be a human being? When you think, ‘I am a human being’, you must live as a human being.
Your joy itself is My joy
Desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride and envy are the traits of beasts. Man must conduct himself as a man with his fellow man. One must hate no one. I have no anger of any kind against anyone, nor hatred. That is exactly why everyone loves Me. In Me there is only Prema! That is why, even if I am in a dense forest, everyone comes there; if I go along the bazaar, those in the shops come out. What is the reason for this? Only Prema! My Prema alone draws everyone to Me! Even towards Me, some feel hatred. But the reason for it is nothing but their own ‘imagination’; it is no fault of Mine. “Swami sees so many people! Yet He stays so calm,” you think. Calm itself is My inborn nature. I never get a ‘castor oil face’. I go on scattering smiles all the time. For Me it is always Ānanda! I tell you too to stay joyful, and only joyful. When you are all joyful, that itself is great joy to Me. Your joy itself is My joy. That is why everyone loves Me. If by chance anyone builds up hatred towards Me, that is their fault, not Mine.
