Passage 3

In plain words

When there is Prema in us, everyone is a sister or brother to us! We do not quarrel with one another; we feel no anger toward anyone. If you greet even your enemy with ‘Hello brother’, he too will say ‘Hello brother’. “As the feeling, so the outcome.” So our feelings must be good. All the good and bad we experience comes to us from our thoughts and nothing else. If something bad has happened to you, God did not hand it to you, nor did anyone else; you yourself are doing yourself harm; your own bad thoughts are the root cause of it. If happiness has come to you, that too is nothing but the fruit of your thoughts! So you must first of all make your thoughts pure. Only when the thoughts are pure is life ‘happy’. Only where there is ‘purity’ is there ‘divinity’. But today people divide Divinity. We must not ‘divide’ ‘divinity’; we must regard it as one. When the three, ‘unity, purity, divinity’, come together, life is ever so pleasant. Good qualities and bad qualities alike are what we bring upon ourselves! All of them are mere fabrications! Man makes up everything himself. How beautiful these lights look here! Who made all of these? Man! Without humanness, divinity is not attained. The mind must become pure. We must develop human values. Only then do we become fit to attain divinity.

Keep the mind pure and still!

Our own senses make us restless; they lead us into many kinds of bad ways. But with our mind pure, they guide us along the good way. “The mind is the root of this world.” So keep the mind pure and still. Troubles and confusion come to us only because we set up the difference that God is one thing and man another. Not just ‘confusion’: the fuse goes too! So we must not keep ‘confusion’ about God.
