Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The Self alone is lasting for you. That is the ‘Supreme Self’. Though the body grows weak, that very ‘Supreme Power’ leads you; that same Power gives you ‘help’. So all of you, keep God in mind. Not this name or that; keep any name in mind.

With sugar we make many kinds of sweets. Eat whichever sweet you want. But in all of them the sugar is one! In the same way, everything is God. So we must not keep any ‘doubts’ at all about God. These ‘doubts’ do man a great deal of harm. If man is to live as man, he must drive ‘doubts’ away. As long as ‘doubts’ stay within us, they work like poison. As long as there is ‘poison’ inside, whatever food we eat becomes ‘poison’ itself, does it not! So we must give no room to ‘doubts’ at all. Put your trust in yourself! That is ‘self-faith’. If you have it, no one can do anything to you. Even if bombs fall all around, they can do nothing to this ‘Self’. Many people keep fearing, “Ayyō, so many terrorists are throwing bombs, they are doing that, they are doing this.” We need fear nothing.

‘Without singing to Hari there is no happiness, no Śānti’

Embodiments of Prema! All of you have gathered here with great Bhakti, great hope and great Prema. Hold on to that Prema. By that Prema itself, develop the feeling ‘I am God, I am God’. If someone comes and asks you, ‘Who are you?’, you must not say, 'I am so and so'; you must say, 'I am God'. You must say, 'Not only I, you are also God'. You must strengthen the faith that all are embodiments of God.

(Bhagavān Himself sang the songs ‘Prema mudita manase kaho Rāma Rāma Rām...’ and ‘Hari bhajana binā sukha śānti nahīṃ’, had the devotees sing them after Him, and then continued His divine discourse, saying:)
