In plain words
Wherever you look, God is there. Leaving aside such divinity, you give great value to things that come and go for a time. You must not look on God as ‘cheap’ (of no account). He is the ‘Chief’! If we keep that ‘Chief’ in our heart, we have no eye for these ‘cheap’ things. All of these are ‘cheap’! God alone is the ‘Chief’! We must trust Him.
Say ‘Jesus’, say ‘Rāma’, say ‘Kṛṣṇa’, say ‘Allāh’. Whatever name you say, the names differ, but God is one alone. There are not two Gods. There is only one God. “Truth is one; the wise speak of it in many ways.” Put down a one and draw as many zeros beside it as you like. Then its value keeps rising. Even if you put down a hundred zeros, if you wipe out the one, there is no value at all. God alone is the hero; the whole world is a zero! So first of all make God your hero. If you remember God, everything will be victory for you; no bombs can do anything to you. In fact the power that is in man is not in any bomb. Who made the bomb? Man! Is the maker great? Or is what is made great? The maker is the great one. So we must recognise the greatness of man. “There is no one greater than me. Even God is not other than me”: we must know this truth. That is why Vedānta said, “Know yourself.”
Develop self-confidence and faith in God!
To the question ‘Who am I?’ the right answer is ‘I am Brahman’. You must recognise, “I am not a human being, I am God.” Only in physical sight are you a human being. But a divine power that surpasses everything is in you yourself. With that in your keeping, why should you fear little bombs?! So recognise the Ātma principle; develop faith in the Ātma. That is why I said, ‘First Self, then help.’
