In plain words
and beauty — to love these is my very nature. It is for this reason that I love and dwell here. That very embodiment of beauty is Paramātma. Hence, it is in loving Paramātma that this highest goal lies," he said. The one thing truly worth loving is Paramātma alone — this truth is what Bharatiya paramartha proclaims. This indeed is man's own nature. It is for this very reason that I love him. I want nothing from him, and ask for nothing whatsoever. Wherever it pleases him to place me, let him place me there. For my Prema, Prema itself is the highest goal. My Prema is not a commodity to be traded, O Draupadi!' — so Dharmaja answered. Dharmaja understood that Prema is a divine thing, and taught Draupadi that this Prema is the natural attribute existing at the very plane of the Ātma.
The Ātma, endowed with such a sacred nature of Prema, becomes bound by material substances and, failing to recognise itself, takes on the sense of being a separate jīva — and so human beings are unable to attain completeness. For this reason, when one receives the grace of God, that grace makes the jīva abandon its material body-identification and attain the identity of the Ātma. This is what the Vedas call the severing of bondage, and also liberation. It is to help jīvas caught in material identification attain this state, and to receive God's grace, that the inquiry into Truth and the sixfold disciplines beginning with tranquillity and self-restraint were established. Through these, purity of mind arises — and just as a reflection appears with perfect clarity in a spotless mirror, so too, once purity of mind is present, the vision of the Ātma can be attained very easily by jīvas. For the attainment of Jñāna, purity of mind alone is the royal road. This is the central idea at the heart of Bharatiya paramartha — its very life-breath.
Bharatiyas are not people who merely trust in words and doctrines and waste their time doing so. Nor are they people who look at snail-shells washed up on the seashore and rejoice over them. Bharatiyas are those who dive into the very depths of the ocean and search, wishing to gather nothing but pearls.
