Poem 581

In plain words

For the heedless, who see nothing around them, is all of life rose-water! For the innocent, who know neither wrong nor merit, is all of life tears! Who are friends? Who are enemies? Who is God? Who is the servant! Who is the Guru? Who the disciple? Who is the poet? Who the actor! Is there a head to find it out? Once it is known, is there any doubt! Where there is a head that cannot know, what is wrong in calling it a monkey!
