Having stolen the Vedas and reviled to the full, what happiness did Somakāsura gain? Coveting another's wife, what did the ten-headed one carry away with him for good? Saying he could not give land even as much as a needle's point, what did Duryodhana carry off? Kaṃsa, who in his rage killed even infants, how far did he guard his own life? This too is the end for the wicked of today; if not today, then tomorrow, they will not stand here. Do not set any great hope on anything; to live with moderation is best for you.
