I was born to Drupada, the honoured king; to Pāṇḍu, the emperor who was the champion of the world, I became daughter-in-law; men rich in honour and great, their hands I took in marriage; I bore sons who are vessels of valour and courage; how can I do such menial service? Fie! When the men have lost all shame!
