In plain words

Friendship and compassion, esteem and indifference: these four vāsanās are found upon the earth. Being a source of happiness, and with people in their happiness being one in friendship, with goodwill towards all; seeing the sorrowful and not going far away, but taking pity on them: this is compassion; rather than looking at sinners and laughing them to scorn, not to look upon them at all is indifference; on seeing the virtuous, to honour them with zeal and to be glad: this is the way of esteem. Those on earth who carry such vāsanās Śrī Hari holds in regard above all; He gives them His darśan, gazes on them to His heart's content, and gladly brings them to His side.
