29The person who, held in check, recites with devotion this secret of the Bhagavan's births at evening and at dawn is released from the whole crowd of sorrows. 30This form belongs to the Bhagavan, who is himself without form, whose self is consciousness; it is put together within the self out of the strands of maya, the great principle and the rest. 31As a bank of cloud is laid upon the sky, or earthy dust upon the wind, so the unwise lay the state of being seen upon the seer. 32Beyond this is what is unmanifest, made up of strands not yet unfolded into their array; because its substance is neither seen nor heard, it is the living self, and it is what is born again.
33When these two forms, the real and the unreal, laid upon the self by ignorance, are ruled out by one's own knowing, that is the seeing of Brahman. 34If that goddess maya comes to rest and the understanding grows clear, one knows oneself to be fulfilled indeed, and is magnified in one's own greatness.
