6Master, we have always bowed to your lotus feet, which Virinca and the sons of Virinca and the lord of the gods salute: the highest resort of those who wish for safety here, where time, that other master, has no power. 7Be for our becoming, you who bring the universe to be. You are mother, and friend, and lord, and father; you are our true teacher and our highest god, by following whom we have been made whole. 8That we should have a master in you: we who see the form that is all good fortune, whose face looks upon us with the smoothness of a loving smile, and which even the dwellers in heaven see only from far off.
9Lotus-eyed one, whenever you go away from us to the Kurus or the Madhus, wishing to see your friends, then a moment becomes like ten million years, Unfallen, as it is for eyes without the sun. 10When these words had been spoken by the people, he who is tender to those devoted to him listened, and spreading his favour by his very look, entered the city.
