Entering his parents' house and embraced by his mothers, he bowed his head gladly to the seven, Devaki foremost among them. They took their son onto their laps, their breasts running with affection, their selves overcome with joy; and they wet him with the water born of their eyes. Then he entered his own house, unsurpassed and holding every desirable thing, where there are also sixteen thousand palaces of his wives. His wives, seeing their husband come home to the house after being away, a great festival arising in their minds, rose up all at once from seat and couch, together with their vows, their eyes and faces bashful.

With their sons, with their glances and with the self within, they embraced their husband, their feeling unending; and though it was held back the water ran from the eyes of those bashful women, best of the Bhrgus, out of the trouble of it. Though he was beside them and alone with them, still his two feet were new and new again. Who could turn from those feet at any step, when even fickle Sri does not leave them at any time?
