12Asked so by the king of dharma, he described all of it in order, as he had come to know it, leaving out the destruction of the Yadu line. 13That unwelcome thing, hard for people to bear, which had come of its own accord, he did not tell them; for he was full of pity and could not bear to see them grieved. 14Then for some time he lived there at ease, honoured like a god, working for the good of his elder brother and bringing pleasure to them all. 15While Yama, under a curse, bore the state of a sudra for a hundred years, Aryaman held the rod of punishment over evildoers as was right. 16Yudhisthira, having got his kingdom and seeing his grandson who would carry the line, took joy in the highest fortune, with brothers who were like the guardians of the worlds.
17So, while they were bound to their houses and heedless in the pursuit of them, time, which is hardest of all to cross, went by unnoticed.
