5For what reason did the king seize Kali on his march of conquest, that low sudra wearing the marks of a god among men, who struck the cow with his foot? Let it be told, greatly favoured one, if it has to do with the story of Krsna. 6Or rather, for the good who lick the honey of his lotus feet, what are other talks worth, which are worthless and a waste of life? 7Dear one, for men whose lives are short, mortals who want what does not die, the revered Death has been called here to the work of the slaughterer. 8No one dies so long as the ender sits here. For that very purpose the revered one was called by the highest sages: that in the world of men the nectar of speech that is Hari's play might be drunk.
9The lifetime of a dull man of dull understanding, whose years are few, is carried off by sleep at night and by useless work by day.
