Verse 38

³⁸Then the boy came into the hermitage and saw the body of the snake on his father's neck; struck with grief, he cried out aloud. ³⁹And that son of Angiras, brahmana, hearing his boy weeping, slowly opened his eyes and saw the dead snake on his shoulder. ⁴⁰He threw it off and asked his son: My child, why are you crying? Has someone done you harm? Asked so, the boy told him.
