25Just then the revered son of Vyasa came there, wandering the earth as chance took him, wanting nothing, with no mark on him to show what he was, content with what he had of his own, surrounded by children, in the dress of one who has shaken everything off. 26He was sixteen years old, and his feet and hands and thighs and arms and shoulders and cheeks and body were delicate; his face had long lovely eyes, a high nose, ears matched to each other and fine brows, and his throat was well shaped like a conch. 27His collarbones did not show; his chest was broad and high; his navel was a whorl, and his belly pleasing with its folds. He wore the directions for clothes, his hair fell scattered about his face, his arms hung long, and he shone like the best of the gods.
28He was dark, and by the beauty of limbs always in their season and by his bright smile he was pleasing to women. Though his splendour was hidden, those sages, who knew the marks of it, rose from their seats to him.
