Taking to heart these words of Vyasa's son, which settled for him what was real about his own self, the son of Uttara set his mind truly upon Krsna. He let go the sense of mine, grown deep in him over the years, in body and wife and children, in house and cattle and wealth and kinsmen, and in a kingdom with nothing lacking in it. And he asked this very thing that you are asking me, best of the good: he of the great mind, who put his trust in hearing of the power of Krsna. Knowing his own ending, and laying down the works that serve the three ends of life, he came to a firm love for the Bhagavan Vasudeva as for his own self.
