As the breath of life, heating its own place, heats outside it as well, so the Person, heating the vast form, heats within and without. He is lord of what does not die and of what does not fear, since he went past the mortal, which is food. So, brahmin, the greatness of the Person is hard to get past. They know all beings to stand in one quarter of the Person, which is his standing place. In the upper heads of the three-headed one were laid the deathless, and safety, and freedom from fear. The three quarters stood outside, and those are the stages of life that raise no children. The remaining one, within the three worlds, is the householder, who has not taken the great vow.

He strode out both paths in every direction, the one with eating and the one without, and these are ignorance and knowledge. The Person is the ground of both. From him the egg was born, the vast form made of elements and senses and strands. He went past that stuff, the whole world, heating it as the sun does with its rays.
