23Turning a kind face to our prayer, the lord of the parts came down by a part into Iksvaku's line; and standing by his teacher's word he entered the forest with his wife and his younger brother. Setting himself against him, the ten-necked one came to grief. 24The sea, its body shaking with risen fear, gave him a road at once, when he meant to burn the enemy's city as Hara burns; for the crowds of sea-beasts and snakes and crocodiles below were scorched by the deep red of his eyes, churned with anger over the one he loved. 25The one who stole his wife filled the quarters with mockery, and the tusks of great Indra's mount were broken against his chest. As he cried out over his army, his swelling laughter will be taken from him at once, and his breath with it, by the twanging of the bow.
26To spend away the pain of the earth, ground down by hosts of those who are no gods, he will be born by his parts, with a white hair and a black. Going by a road that people cannot make out, he will do deeds that are fastened to his own greatness.
